Hire of rooms

Reservations in advance are essential for all room use and are accepted at the absolute discretion of the Management.

Maximum capacity
Theatre/Main Hall 104 people (theatre style seating to a fixed plan) or 100 people (other arrangements). Balcony 24 people (seated, including Balcony Attendant). Building (for parties/social events) 100 people; if the tables are set out 80.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that these numbers are not exceeded under any circumstances

Management of events
The person making the booking is responsible for appointing a Supervisor and Attendant(s), one of whom must be male and both over the age of 21. The Supervisor and Attendant(s) are responsible for the good conduct of guests and must conform to the requirements of the Bollington Arts Centre Safety and Security Duties for Public Events - Notes for House Managers - a copy is available in the foyer.  The Record Sheet must be signed to accept responsibility. The entrance door must be attended throughout to control admissions.

The Control Room may only be used by operators approved in advance by the Arts Centre Management

No alcohol may be brought onto the premises except by agreement, and subject to corkage charge. No-one under the age of 18 must be provided with alcoholic drinks. Users must sign the book after each event or attendance to confirm the building has been left secure and identify any damage. The Centre must be left in a clean and tidy condition ready for the next user.

Music
If you engage the services of a Band or DJ you must ensure that they have insurance to cover their public liability

Emergency procedures
The Supervisor and Attendant(s) must be familiar with the written emergency procedures set out in 'Bollington Arts Centre Safety and Security Procedures for Public Events' and must sign the Record Sheet to accept responsibility

Fire precautions and smoking
The use of naked flames inside the building is prohibited, including stage performances. Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the Arts Centre - see current BAC Smoking Policy

Charges and payments
A returnable deposit of £200 must be submitted to the Bookings Secretary with the Booking Form. This will only be waived at the discretion of the Management.

The full hire charge must be paid at least 14 days in advance of the event.

A cancellation charge of the full amount of the booking will apply for events cancelled less than one month in advance unless the management is able to secure an alternative booking. If extra cleaning is required after an event, the full cost of this will be deducted from the deposit. The full cost of any damages or repairs resulting from an event will be deducted from the deposit Please refer to our current price list for hiring charges – this is displayed in the Foyer.
